Kayak tours in Lake Tahoe are suitable for all ages and skill levels (5+). Private tours are available for as few as two or as many as 80 guests. Boats

If you are visiting Lake Tahoe for the first time, you must experience a traditional paddlewheel Lake Tahoe boat tour. The M.S. Dixie II departs daily from Zephyr Cove Resort and holds 500 passengers, making it the largest vessel cruising Lake Tahoe. The Rum Runner is the newest South Lake Tahoe boat tour. The 55-foot yacht is equipped with two decks, one enclosed and the other wide open for great viewing. The Beacon Restaurant supplies its famous Rum Runners and other beverages for purchase on the boat.

Snowmobile

South Lake Tahoe snowmobile companies offer rides from gentle, circular tracks through meadows with peekaboo lake views, to cruising along the Tahoe Rim trail with expansive views of Lake Tahoe and the Sierra that contrast the glistening white snow against the sapphire blue of the lake.

UTV (Ultra Terrain Vehicle Tours)

The winter-guided UTV tour departs from the top of the Heavenly gondola, traversing to Blue Sky Terrace with stops for discussions on Lake Tahoe, environmental insights, and rare photo opportunities. Tours are only purchasable at the gondola’s summit. Due to inherent risks, participants must be aware, physically capable, and follow all instructions. Each vehicle carries up to 5 participants, accommodating 5-10 participants in total, depending on vehicle availability. Special accommodations can be made with advanced notice.

Helicopter

Scenic helicopter tours in Lake Tahoe allow you to soak in incredible views, fly over pristine wilderness, and see the unparalleled beauty of Lake Tahoe from the air. Hot Air Balloon

Hot Air Balloon tours are available over Lake Tahoe from approximately May through October and over Carson Valley from approximately November through April. The flights over Lake Tahoe start at an elevation of 6, 200 feet above sea level, sometimes obtaining elevations up to 10,000 feet above sea level when conditions permit offering spectacular views of the Sierras and on a clear day even the peaks of Yosemite.

The Heavenly Gondola will reopen for the summer season on June 14, 2024. A 2.4-mile ride up the Heavenly Mountain Gondola offers breathtaking panoramic views of Lake Tahoe. At the top, use your Scenic Gondola ticket to take the Tamarack Express chairlift for stunning views and access to hiking trails for all skill levels. Alternately, head for the ziplines for a more intimate ride through and above the Tahoe treeline.

Parasailing

Parasailing above Lake Tahoe offers stunning aerial views. At Ski Run Marina, you can choose to cruise comfortably at a low altitude of 200 feet above the lake or experience the thrill of soaring more than double that height at 500 feet.

Glider Rides

A glider ride is one of the best ways to experience Lake Tahoe from the air offering a much greater view of the lake. Lake Tahoe.
