A Guide to Locating the IMEI Number on Your Android Phone

When it comes to finding your Android phone’s IMEI number, there are three different places to look. Two of them can be found within the phone itself, while the third option is located outside of the phone. However, the latter option of checking the box your phone came in may not be the most viable since you may have already disposed of it. Surprisingly, the best way to locate your phone’s IMEI number is through the regular Phone app.

1. Launch the Phone app on your Android phone.
2. Access the manual dialer.
3. Type in *#06#. There is no need to press the call button.
4. A window will automatically appear, displaying various codes, including the IMEI number.

This window will provide both a numerical IMEI number and a scannable barcode. If you have another phone nearby, it would be beneficial to take a picture of this information for future reference. Otherwise, writing down the number and keeping it in a secure place is essential. Another method to find your phone’s IMEI number is to check the Settings.

1. Open the Settings app.
2. Swipe up and select About Phone.
3. Locate your IMEI number within the menu.

The About Phone menu, which can be accessed through the Settings app, contains the IMEI number for all Android phones, regardless of the manufacturer. However, it’s important to note that some older Samsung models have a Status menu within the About Phone section that includes the IMEI number.
