A Stylish and Cost-effective Crossover That Exceeds Expectations

In terms of handling the open road, both the Envista and Trax share some similarities. During my portion of a two-hour drive through the Michigan countryside beyond Ann Arbor, I found that the turbo-three engine of the Envista was able to keep up with highway traffic. The adaptive cruise control was also a welcome feature, although there were times when I needed to overtake a large truck in front of me. However, what truly impressed me was the quietness of the Envista as I drove down the two-lane roads.

While the lack of traffic in the morning may have contributed to the quietness, a significant portion of the credit goes to Buick’s QuietTuning technology. This technology combines various noise-reduction techniques to reduce sounds at their source, block most of these sounds from entering the cabin, and absorb the remaining noise. At times, it felt like I was driving an electric vehicle.

In terms of handling on twisty two-lane roads, the 2024 Buick Envista felt firmly planted on the pavement, thanks to its Watts link rear suspension. This suspension system allows the rear axle to move up and down smoothly over bumps while ensuring stability through corners. Additionally, the Envista was capable of handling various surfaces, including a slow stretch of gravel due to ongoing road construction. This may be the closest an Envista owner will come to off-road driving in this premium compact crossover. Furthermore, it is worth noting that there were no signs of chipped paint from the gravel hitting the bottom of the car. Overall, the Envista provides a comfortable and capable driving experience, characteristic of Buick.
