Akshay Kumar has officially confirmed the release date of his highly anticipated film OMG 2. The movie is scheduled to hit cinemas on its original release date of August 11. There were rumors circulating about a possible change in the release date after the Central Board of Film Certification placed the film on hold. However, Akshay Kumar has put those rumors to rest by sharing a post on his social media accounts, announcing the release of a new song titled “Oonchi Oonchi Waadi” along with the original release date.

The post features Pankaj Tripathi, another lead actor in the film, paying homage to Lord Shiva while standing on his scooter. In the caption, Akshay wrote, ”#OonchiOonchiWaadi में बसते हैं भोले शंकर Song out tomorrow! #OMG2 in theatres on August 11.”
Despite Akshay Kumar’s announcement, some netizens expressed their discontent with the film’s release and made negative comments. One user wrote, ”Aksay Kumar ka fen hu but hindutav ka abki bar majak bana to bura bycott aksay.” Another user commented, ”Akshay sir iss movie me Sanatani dhram ka majak nahi chiye.”

OMG 2 is a satirical comedy-drama film directed by Amit Rai, who also directed the original film released in 2012. In addition to Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi, the movie will feature Yami Gautam in the role of a lawyer. The film’s makers recently unveiled its teaser.
From the first installment of the OMG series, only Akshay Kumar and Govind Namdev will be reprising their roles in the second chapter. The rest of the cast, including Paresh Rawal, will not be a part of OMG 2.
