‘Alien Invasion’ Recreated by Player: ‘Tears Of The Kingdom’ Reimagines ‘Majora’s Mask’

A player of the highly-acclaimed game, “Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom,” has impressively recreated one of the most peculiar quests from “Majora’s Mask” using the game’s Ultrahand ability.

Sharing their innovative creation in a short clip on Reddit, player Katasan84 showcased their character, Link, wearing the iconic Majora’s Mask helmet, while a beam of light from what appears to be a UFO illuminates a field of cows. Take a look below.

This remarkable creation pays homage to the Ghosts, also referred to as aliens in Nintendo Power’s official guide for “Majora’s Mask.” These creatures invade Romani Ranch on the First Day of the game. To protect Romani and the cows from abduction, the player must skillfully shoot down the enemies using their bow and arrow. Failure to successfully defend the ranch results in Romani returning on the Second Day, with her memories erased and in a catatonic state.

Katasan84 has generously provided a tutorial on how to construct the UFO using rails to create an octagonal frame, allowing fans to attach their own fans to it. Two downward-facing mirrors are then placed in the center of the “craft” to produce the beam of light from the base of the UFO.

The mirrors reflect light in the game world even during overcast weather or in the evening in Hyrule. Katasan84 explains, “I assume this is due to the fact that the sun is shining from a low angle in the sky.”

“Oddly enough, this rule seems to apply even when the sky is cloudy and rainy. Considering this, I find the most opportune time to capture a clip of the mirrors is during this one-minute/one in-game hour window,” they continued.

In other gaming news, Swen Vincke, the founder of Larian Studios, suggested that players should create their own character in “Baldur’s Gate 3” to experience the complete story arcs of the various origin characters.
