Apple May Release iPhones In September, Apple Intelligence May Follow In October

Apple iPhone 16 series will likely launch in India this year. The company is expected to introduce four models: iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. While Apple Intelligence will likely not be ready for a release at launch, Mark Gurman from Bloomberg believes this will not affect the iPhone 16 series release. The journalist noted buyers may have to update to iOS 18.1 to enjoy Apple Intelligence features.

According to Gurman’s ‘Power On’ newsletter, the much-awaited and hyped Apple Intelligence will not be ready until October. However, the company will reportedly still launch the 16 lineup around the “same time as last year”. The speculative date for the launch could be September 10. Gurman also noted the upcoming set of features will not be “that impressive” and may not prove a reason to choose the upcoming iPhone.

The notable updates like ChatGPT integrations, Genmoji and revamped Siri will not be available in the initial phase. The company is currently testing a host of AI enhancements in the developer beta version. On top of AI, iOS 18 is expected to bring a host of meaningful upgrades over iOS 17. The upcoming OS is expected to start rolling out after the iPhone 16 series launch in September.

Coming to the iPhone 16 leaks, the vanilla and the Plus models may sport a vertical camera module this year. On the other hand, the Pro models could have bigger screens and form factor. All models may get a Capture button and improved A series chipsets. While the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus models could remain unchanged this year, the Pro model may get upgraded lenses on the rear.

iPhone 16 Pro Max may get a 48MP ultrawide lens this year and the iPhone 16 Pro may gain a 5x telephoto lens. Considering the company increased prices of the ‘Pro’ models last year, no major price hike has been tipped via the rumour mill in the past. Hence, the prices of all models may remain unchanged this year compared to the iPhone 15 series.
