Apple prepping for big Vision Pro launch in 2024, training employees to use, sell MR headset – Technology News

Apple has big plans for next year i.e. year 2024. The Cupertino giant is gearing up for the launch of its highly anticipated Vision Pro next year and now according to a recent report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple retail stores are actively preparing for this launch.  Gurman states that Apple is currently focusing on finalising distribution plans and conducting rigorous device testing.  The company is calling retail employees from each of its US stores to Cupertino and training them on how to use and sell the Vision Pro. These trainings are expected to be held in January next year.

“The device needs to be customized for each person, and a poor fitting could ultimately ruin the user’s experience. Every step will be carefully orchestrated, including how retail employees approach a customer and how they place the device on a user’s head,” writes Gurman.

Reportedly, Vision Pro will initially be available only in the United States, with plans to make it available in other countries, including Canada and the United Kingdom, later in 2024. The company is reportedly planning to place an appointment-based system for purchases, likely due to the high price point and expected demand.

While the exact launch date remains unconfirmed, Gurman’s report suggests it will likely coincide with Apple’s Spring event, which typically occurs in March. Apple will likely officially unveil the Vision Pro launch date and showcase its capabilities at the event.

The Vision Pro, unveiled by Apple in June 2023, is positioned as a high-end mixed reality headset aimed at professionals and early adopters. It boasts advanced features such as micro-OLED displays with 23 million pixels, an M2 chip paired with a co-processor called R1 chip for video processing.
