This reflects a significant shift towards AI-driven recruitment in the coming years.

The survey also uncovers that 46% of job seekers are now using ChatGPT, an AI-powered tool, to write their resumes and cover letters. Impressively, 78% of these individuals report receiving a higher level of response and securing more interviews from companies when utilizing AI tools in their job applications. However, the extent to which AI is utilized in these applications remains unclear.


Analysis: Assessing the Potential Risks

While these statistics may be promising for employers, they also raise concerns about the potential risks associated with relying heavily on AI in the recruitment process. Although AI-powered short interviews can effectively filter out unsuitable candidates, completely delegating the entire selection process to AI raises valid concerns.

Although surveys like this should be taken with caution, given the rapid development and implementation of AI, we cannot discount these findings as unrealistic. The prospect of being evaluated solely by AI during job interviews may unsettle job candidates. The fear is that individuals may be more inclined to focus on using specific keywords or phrases rather than showcasing their authentic selves, potentially leading to subpar performances.

However, there might be individuals who prefer being interviewed by AI, believing that AI would be less biased and judgmental compared to human interviewers. They might perceive AI as a fairer judge of their skills and abilities. Nevertheless, it is uncertain if these assumptions hold true.

Regardless of personal opinions, it is inevitable that job interviews conducted by chatbots and AI will become increasingly prevalent from next year onwards. This means that interview preparation, although different in some cases, should still approach the process as if interacting with a human. The experts recommend treating AI as you would a person during an interview, avoiding any significant behavioral changes.

Alternatively, one could seek advice directly from AI chatbots such as Bing, Bard, or ChatGPT on how to prepare for an interview with AI, gaining valuable insights into this emerging trend. However, this raises the intriguing possibility of having AI interviewers face off against each other, a concept that may be mind-boggling.
