Ramanand Sagar was the pioneer in introducing the image of Lord Ram to the world. In 1987, Sagar created a serial on Ramayana, casting Arun Govil in the role of Lord Ram. Following the success of the series, Arun Govil attained widespread fame, becoming a household name. People not only started referring to Arun as Lord Ram but also began venerating him, solidifying his association with the revered character.
JEETENDRA
The film ‘Lav Kush’, based on the Ramayana, was released in 1997 and became quite a hit at the box office. Directed by a popular Tamil director, V Madhusudhana Rao, the film had a quite popular cast, with Jeetendra playing the role of Lord Ram and Jaya Prada as Goddess Sita.
