Available Now: Playable Demo of Cheyenne, an Upcoming New Vegas Fan Expansion for Fallout Free

Presenting an exciting fan expansion for New Vegas, Fallout Free Cheyenne is the brainchild of modder ‘userKN’. You can now download a free demo to get a taste of what’s in store.

Last week, we showcased the first gameplay trailer for another upcoming New Vegas fan expansion called Fallout: Nuevo Mexico. Today, we are thrilled to share another captivating fan project based on one of the best, if not THE best, Fallout games. Set in the year 2281, Free Cheyenne will immerse players in a world of political intrigue, outlaws, and intense gunfights.

“Caesar’s Legion holds Denver in its iron fist, posing a threat to the neighboring settlements and the people of the Corridor Wasteland with their brutal conquest,” describes the mod’s official description. “To the north, the City of Free Cheyenne stands defiant against Caesar’s rule and prepares for war. You have been enlisted to travel with the East Forty Caravan Company to Free Cheyenne in order to deliver a package to the Platte Trading Company.”

To offer fans a glimpse of this upcoming unofficial expansion for New Vegas, its creator has released a playable demo featuring three new quests, new factions, and an entirely new world to explore. Keep in mind that this project is still a work-in-progress, so the demo may feel somewhat “empty,” especially in comparison to the grand scale of the main city. Additionally, it’s important to note that New Vegas is quite dated, having been released in 2010 for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. This inevitably means that the game and its fan projects may show signs of age. Nevertheless, this fan expansion looks highly promising, and we are confident that die-hard New Vegas fans will thoroughly enjoy it.

Below, you’ll find a selection of screenshots as well as a video showcasing the upcoming fan expansion in action. Make sure to check it out:

If you’re interested, you can download the playable demo of the expansion from Nexusmods here. And for more single-player Fallout content, be sure to explore the somewhat older fan expansion, Fallout: New California.
