Barber Enters UP Man’s Home, Asks For Tea, Then Murders His 2 Children

Angry locals set a shop on fire after the incident in Uttar Pradesh’s Budaun.

Lucknow:

A barber entered the house of an acquaintance with whom he had a dispute and allegedly murdered his two children in Uttar Pradesh’s Badaun. The murderer was shot dead in an encounter after he attacked the cops while fleeing, police said on Wednesday.

The murder sparked tension in the city on Tuesday evening but the situation is under control now, they added.

The man identified as Sajid ran a barbershop opposite the victims’ house in Baba Colony and knew their father, Vinod. On Tuesday evening, he entered the house and asked the family for tea, police said. When they left the room, he climbed to the terrace where Vinod’s three children Aayush (13), Ahaan (7) and Piyush (6) were playing.

He slit the throats of the two elder brothers and also attacked the six-year-old before fleeing the scene, police said. While Aayush and Ahaan died, Piyush sustained minor injuries.

Sajid was caught nearby but he tried to attack the police and was killed in an encounter. According to the police, the motive behind the murders was an ongoing dispute with the children’s father.

Budaun District Magistrate Manoj Kumar said the police received information about the crime and the subsequent protest by the locals. He called on people to maintain peace.
