D&L Industries Inc., the esteemed food ingredients and plastics manufacturing company owned by the Lao family, proudly unveiled its state-of-the-art manufacturing plant worth P10 billion in Batangas province. The project, which took five years to complete, is now in its soft-opening phase and is set to achieve full commercial operations within the next two months. The factory is situated on a 26-hectare property in the First Industrial Township – Special Economic Zone in Batangas.
Despite encountering challenges such as a pandemic, strict lockdowns during construction, and global supply chain bottlenecks, D&L president and CEO Alvin Lao expressed his excitement about the plant’s commencement of commercial operations. He sees this as a significant milestone that propels the company into new global markets and enables the production of higher value-added products. Lao emphasized that their Batangas facility positions them favorably as global demand rebounds.
Furthermore, D&L views the manufacturing plant as a vital component in their growth strategy. It will strengthen their fast-growing exports business and provide a comprehensive manufacturing solution for global brands, serving as a “one-stop shop.” The facility will produce various coconut-based products for food and oleochemicals.
D&L also revealed their plan to launch a wide range of shelf-ready products for their export customers. These products, made from sustainable, natural, and organic coconut oil, fall under categories such as personal and baby care, cosmetics and beauty care, household cleaning, health and nutrition, and food and vegetable oils. The company believes that this initiative offers a convenient solution for global brand owners seeking to enhance their sustainable product offerings.
