BIZ BUZZ: No Bulacan airport reclamation

San Miguel Corp. has clarified that its New Manila International Airport project in Bulacan does not involve reclamation work. Instead, the company is redeveloping existing land that has been regularly flooded. San Miguel president and CEO Ramon Ang emphasized that the project site consists of legitimately titled properties that he has been acquiring over the years. The land redevelopment is being carried out in collaboration with international experts and partners, including global maritime services expert Royal Boskalis.

Meanwhile, a popular local food chain has been criticized for its preference for imported chicken over local suppliers. This has resulted in a decline in the quality of their flagship product, fried chicken. In contrast, an international chain continues to support local chicken farmers to maintain the high quality of their fried chicken. The question now is whether the local food chain will respond to the public’s demand to return to using local chicken sources or prioritize short-term profits.
