Renowned filmmaker Karan Johar is returning to the director’s chair with the highly anticipated movie “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani,” starring the dynamic duo Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh. As the film gears up for its release, it has already created a buzz with the launch of its trailer and the romantic ballad “Tum Kya Mile.” However, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) recently reviewed the movie and provided some suggestions for improvements.

The CBFC has granted a U/A certificate to “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani” but has recommended certain edits. According to Bollywood Hungama, the board has asked the filmmakers to remove three dialogues and replace offensive language.

Changes recommended by CBFC for “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani”

  • Three dialogues have been omitted from the film, including a reference to Lok Sabha and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, as well as a dialogue that was deemed vulgar and disrespectful to women in a lingerie shop scene.
  • The rum brand Old Monk has been replaced with Bold Monk.
  • The word “bra” has been replaced with “item”.
  • A cussword has been changed to “behen di”.

“Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani” marks the second collaboration between Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh, following their successful pairing in “Gully Boy.” This film holds special significance as it is Karan Johar’s directorial venture after his last film, “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil,” released in 2016. Produced by Dharma Productions, the movie also features powerhouse performers Jaya Bachchan, Dharmendra, and Shabana Azmi in pivotal roles.

The filmmakers recently unveiled a teaser of their fourth song, “Dhindora Baje Re.” Judging from the glimpse, the song promises to be a festive track with energetic beats. Prior to this, two other songs, “Ve Kamleya” and “What Jhumka,” as well as the romantic ballad “Tum Kya Mile,” were released.

“Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani” is set to hit theaters on July 28.
