Chandler Jones bashes Robert Griffin, Adam Schefter for showing concern

Chandler Jones bashed former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III and ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter on Thursday following renewed concern for the mental well-being of the Raiders’ pass rusher.

Griffin, the former Commanders quarterback had asked his followers to pray for Jones and his family following Jones’ bizarre 25-minute video posted to his social channels.

“I don’t know what’s going on with him right now, but after everything I have seen I do know he needs to feel like he is being heard in this moment. I reached out to him and encourage all of his NFL brothers to do the same,” the now-football commentator wrote

The Raiders defender didn’t appear to appreciate the post, however, and took a shot at Griffin in a since-deleted reply on X.

“Bro you washed up… RG such and such… sit down.. I’m still in the league.. you twitter fingers,” Jones wrote.

Griffin wasn’t the only one whom Jones put on blast before deleting the posts.

Jones also put up a post on X appearing to show a direct message he had received from Schefter.

“For everyone saying ‘Get well’ im very well! Ask the low lifes lol sorry Adam,” Jones wrote.

There has been growing concern over the mental health of Jones following several instances of odd comments made on social media.

Thursday was the latest example, which first came about in an Instagram live video he shared on X.

The video ends with Jones crying while talking about Raiders coach Josh McDaniels and former teammate Aaron Hernandez.

The pass rusher insinuated that McDaniels had a role in the death of Hernandez, who killed himself in jail in 2017 after he had been convicted of murder.

“Y’all don’t know what Josh McDaniels really did to Aaron Hernandez. … Y’all thought Aaron Hernandez killed himself in jail,” Jones said, breaking down and then cutting off the stream.

Prior to Thursday, Jones had claimed that he was taken against his will to a mental hospital and that the Las Vegas Fire Department had injected him with an unknown substance.

Jones has been away from the Raiders since Labor Day weekend when his erratic behavior first appeared to surface publicly.

Jones deleted his response to Gfiffin.

The Raiders placed Jones on the non-football illness list last week and ruled him out of playing indefinitely.
