Could WhatsApp introduce a feature to pin message durations? Learn more about this feature and its potential benefits for users.

WhatsApp, owned by Meta, is currently developing a new feature called message pin duration. This feature, discovered in the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.13.11 update, is now available on the Google Play Store.

According to reports by WaBetaInfo, the message pin duration feature will allow users to choose how long a message remains pinned in a chat. A screenshot of the feature reveals that users will have the flexibility to select a specific duration, after which the pinned message will automatically be unpinned.

The feature offers three different durations: 24 hours, 7 days, and 30 days. Users also have the option to manually unpin the message before the chosen duration expires, giving them greater control and flexibility over their pinned messages.

How will the message pin duration feature benefit users?

According to WaBetaInfo, this new feature provides users with a convenient way to ensure that important and relevant information remains visible for a desired period of time. Once the set time elapses, the message is automatically unpinned, allowing for a more organized, up-to-date, and clearer conversation.

The feature is currently under development and will be released to beta testers in a future update of the app.
