David Brown Automotive unveils the Mini eMastered

David Brown Automotive (DBA) has entered the electric vehicle arena with its first-ever EV, the Mini eMastered. DBA is a distinguished coachbuilder recognized for its unique automotive craftsmanship and its latest creation is nothing short of a masterpiece. Just a few weeks ago, MINI launched the all-new, all-electric Cooper so the eMastered’s reveal timing could not be more perfect.

Aesthetically, the Mini eMastered is reminiscent of its classic lineage. While it features LED headlights and custom alloy wheels, akin to the Mini Remastered Oselli, its exterior has been designed to be more understated, however it does tip its hat to the OE Cooper with its flared wheel arches. The interior of the eMastered has undergone a meticulous upgrade. New leather seats bearing the ‘David Brown’ embroidery are a highlight, accompanied by custom pedals and a modernized dashboard with beautiful controls. The dashboard also houses a central infotainment touchscreen compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This is possible due to the instrument cluster being repositioned behind the steering wheel, optimizing space and layout.

For those intrigued by exclusivity, David Brown Automotive suggests that the Mini eMastered is customizable, allowing every owner to tailor it according to their preferences, ensuring no two vehicles are identical.

It’s powered by a modest 18.8kWh battery. To ensure it retains a resemblance to its progenitor, the vehicle weighs in at 640kg, identical to the original Mini. Despite its petite stature, the eMastered boasts a commendable 98-hp electric motor that also produces 129 lb-ft of torque. Performance-wise, it can reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in a swift 8.5 seconds, only slightly behind the 123-hp Oselli by a mere 0.7 seconds. The top speed stands at 148 km/h (92 mph), and it promises a WLTP-certified range of up to 177 km/h (110 mph). The eMastered also supports recharging speeds of up to 6.6kW.

From a pricing perspective, the DBA Mini eMastered is listed at $206,000 (£125,000). This places it above the $162,000 (£98,000) Mini Remastered Oselli Edition from the previous year.
