Dhanush, the Birthday Boy, Opens Up About His First Hollywood Film “The Gray Man”

Born on July 28, 1983, in Chennai, Dhanush, originally known as Venkatesh Prabhu Kasthuri Raja, is a highly renowned actor, producer, and playback singer. While he began his acting career with the Tamil film Thulluvadho Ilamai in 2002, it was his breakthrough role in the critically acclaimed movie Kadhal Kondein (2003) that garnered him widespread recognition and success.

Some of his noteworthy films include Pudhupettai, Aadukalam (which earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Tamil), Velaiilla Pattadhari (VIP), Asuran, Maari, and Maari 2. Additionally, he has also made his mark in Bollywood with films like Raanjhanaa (2013), for which he won the Best Male Debut Award at the 59th Filmfare Awards. He was recently seen in Atrangi Re (2021) alongside Sara Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar.

Dhanush is hailed for his versatile acting skills and his remarkable ability to convincingly portray diverse characters.

During an exclusive interview with Filmfare, Dhanush was asked about the superhero character he would choose if given the opportunity to be cast in a superhero film. In response, he expressed his desire to have a superhero character specifically developed for him, an Indian superhero.

When questioned about his experience filming an extensive fight sequence with Ryan Gosling and Ana de Armas, Dhanush praised the stunt choreographers, James and Mark, for their exceptional skills and the smooth process of learning and executing the stunts. He mentioned that all the actors involved underwent rigorous training and rehearsals before the actual shoot, and the results were sensational.

Dhanush also shared his admiration for Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, and Ana de Armas, describing them as kind and professional individuals. He expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to work with such talented actors and emphasized that he had a fantastic experience working with them.
