Dyson has finally launched the Airstrait straightener in India, priced at Rs 45,900. This new addition to Dyson’s range of hair care products promises to offer users a unique hair straightening experience with its innovative technology that styles hair using air avoiding the traditional use of hot plates, to reduce heat damage to hair.
According to Dyson, its Airstrait straightener is designed for various Indian hair types, to allow users to get natural straight style while maintaining the hair’s strength and healthy appearance. Unlike the traditional straighteners which use hot plates to flatnes hair strands, , the Airstrait uses high-pressure air blades to dry and straighten hair simultaneously. The device features two arms that generate a precisely angled air blade, directing airflow downwards and into the hair, which both dries and straightens it.

This expertise, which we’ve gained over the last 25 years, is what has enabled us to deliver our first wet to dry straightener, with no hot plates, and no heat damage. Delivering the ease-of-use that people love about straighteners but with high-velocity air blades, saves time, maintains hair strength and achieves an everyday natural straight style.”
Dyson Airstrait straightener features
The Airstrait uses controlled airflow to style hair with minimal heat, thus reducing frizz and flyaways while preserving natural shine. Behind the mechanics, the device operates on Dyson’s Hyperdymium motor which generates the necessary airflow to dry and straighten hair simultaneously. Similar to other Dyson products in the Dyson hair care range, the Airstrait also features intelligent heat control.
It has glass bead thermistors to measure the airflow temperature up to 16 times per second, ensuring it stays within the required range to prevent heat damage and protect hair’s natural shine. This data is processed to regulate the heating element, ensuring the airflow does not exceed the necessary temperature.
The Airstrait offers two primary styling modes-‘Wet’ and ‘Dry’-along with a ‘Cool’ mode to set the style.
