This means that players can now be directly captured from their real-life matches, eliminating the need for them to visit the studio and put on motion capture suits. All the data is collected from the in-stadium cameras, enabling EA to incorporate authentic animations such as Erling Haaland’s iconic karate kick goal against his former club Borussia Dortmund. During the reveal event, EA boasted that developers could implement the latest animations into the game’s engine within days of their occurrence on the actual pitch.

In collaboration with leading statisticians Opta Sports, EA Sports has assigned PlayStyles to players, allowing defenders like Liverpool FC’s Virgil van Dijk to execute clean stop tackles, effectively stealing the ball and triggering counterattacks.
