A software hacker has recently discovered a hidden Tesla feature that is exclusively available to CEO Elon Musk. This mode, dubbed “Elon Mode,” enables hands-free driving in Tesla vehicles.
Impressions after covering nearly 600 miles using version 11.4.3 with Elon Mode activated. The experience was significantly better compared to previous attempts, thanks to various contributing factors. I arrived only 5 minutes late, even though I originally anticipated being even more delayed.

Every Tesla vehicle is equipped with a driver monitoring system known as “nag,” which reminds the driver to maintain contact with the steering wheel if there has been no input for a while. This feature ensures that the driver remains attentive and awake. Some models even have a camera positioned above the rearview mirror to monitor the driver’s attentiveness.
‘Elon Mode’ essentially bypasses both the ‘nag’ and camera monitoring features. @greentheonly shared a video demonstrating the use of ‘Elon Mode’ while driving his Tesla.
@greentheonly drove approximately 600 miles (965 km) using this mode, and the ‘nag’ feature and camera monitoring did not activate even once. The hacker notes that the vehicle drove at a slower pace and made sporadic lane changes. It also became confused by construction barriers, causing it to reduce its speed.
In a tweet response in December 2022, Musk mentioned that nag-less driving would be introduced in an upcoming update, but this has yet to occur.
Agreed, update coming in Jan
