Elon Musk has been a passionate gamer since his childhood and often expresses his love for gaming on social media. Be it talking about some popular gaming titles or streaming his gameplay session online, the X owner has done it all. And now, he is ready to make it easier for gamers to stream their gameplay videos directly on X via the PlayStation 5.

When a user on the social media platform called out the need to have a way of streaming gameplay videos directly on X, Musk responded to the tweet and said that they are working on it.

The X user, who talked about having the option of streaming videos directly to X, wrote, “Any chance we can get X onto gaming consoles as a streaming app? I’d gladly pay whatever price I have to pay to be able to stream directly from my PS5 to X. Not everyone is streaming their games from a PC so is there any chance that we can make a deal with gaming consoles to put X in their stores as a streaming app?”

To this, Musk responded, “Yup, we are working on it.”

The X chief has often confirmed major developments relating to his companies on social media. Even though Musk didn’t exactly specify when we will be getting the option of streaming our videos to X directly, gamers across the globe will surely be excited about this development. As of now, PS5 gamers don’t really have an option of directly streaming their games on a social media platform. They have to stream via Twitch.

However, if Musk allows streaming directly to X via the PS5, it could mean a lot to PS5 gamers willing to start their own streaming ventures and share their gameplay moments with the world.

Sony announced ending PS5 integration with X

On a related note, Sony announced ending the PS5 and PS4 integration with X earlier this year. As a result, users lost the option of uploading content directly from their console. The change came into effect from November 13.

Announcing the termination of X with its consoles, Sony wrote in a message on its website, “As of November 13, 2023, integration with X (formerly known as Twitter) will no longer function on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 consoles. This includes the ability to view any content published on X on PS5/PS4, and the ability to post and view content, trophies, and other gameplay-related activities on X directly from PS5/PS4 (or link an X account to do so).”
