Hollywood actor Emma Stone faced embarrassment at the Oscars 2024 as she walked on stage with a ‘broken’ dress while accepting the Best Actress award. The actor won the award for her role in ‘Poor Things.’ The actor, who looked stunning in a white gown, walked up on stage and confessed that her dress was broken.
While she was unsure when it happened, she believed it happened when she was jamming with Ryan Gosling during the performance of I’m Just Ken.
“Hoo boy, my dress is broken. I think it happened during “I’m Just Ken.” I’m pretty sure,’” Stone said before her emotional speech. She concluded the speech by saying, “Don’t look at the back of my dress. Thank you.”
She repeatedly touched the back of her dress while hugging Mark Ruffalo, and director Yorgos Lanthimos. Jessica Lange and Charlize Theron also came to her rescue briefly, as Emma came forward to deliver her speech, visibly emotional.

“Oh my God, I’m totally—OK, the other night I was panicking as you can kind of see—it happens a lot—that maybe something like this could happen. And Yorgos [Lanthimos, Poor Things’ director] said to me, “Please take yourself out of it,” and he was right because it’s not about me. It’s about a team that came together to make something greater than the sum of its parts. And that is the best part about making movies, is all of us together. And I am so deeply honored to share this with every cast member, with every crew member, with every single person who poured their love and their care and their brilliance into the making of this film,” she said in her speech.
She concluded her speech by thanking her family. Speaking to reporters backstage, the actor said, “I was so amazed by Ryan and what he was doing, and that number just blew my mind. They sewed me back in, which was wonderful.”
Meanwhile, the actor won her first Oscar in 2017 for her role in ‘La La Land,’ a movie that co-starred Gosling.
