Actor Esha Deol appeared in public for the first time after confirming her divorce with husband Bharat Takhtani on February 6. Esha was seen at the Mumbai airport as she was seen heading out of the city. While she kept a low profile, she responded to the question of a paparazzo asking about her well-being.
“Main theek hoon (I am fine),” she responded as she waved at the gathered paparazzi before entering the airport. The video is being widely shared on social media.
Actors Hema Malini and Dharmendra’s daughter Esha married Bharat in 2012. The couple announced their separation in a joint statement and mentioned it was ‘amicable’. “We have mutually and amicably decided to part ways. Through this shift in our lives, the best interests and welfare of our two children is and will be of utmost importance to us. We’d appreciate our privacy is respected,” the statement said.
Hema Malini, as she sought blessings at Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir recently, had said that Esha may join politics. When asked by reporters if she wants the next generation of her family joining politics, Hema had said, “If they want,” adding, “Esha is very much inclined for that. She likes to do it. So many be next few years, if she is interested, she will definitely (join politics).”
Reports had earlier suggested that Esha and Bharat’s divorce was ‘brewing’ for a while. Speculation had begun after Bharat skipped Hema Malini’s 75th birthday party in October last year. He was also missing from Esha’s birthday celebrations in November.
“It was brewing for a while. Esha and her husband had decided to part ways for some time now. They were just waiting for the right time to announce their separation. Now that it is out of the way, Esha is trying to move on with her life. Hemaji is with her daughter now, as she has always been. But Hemaji is not accountable for her daughter’s actions,” a Zoom report had said.
