Geraldo Rivera has officially confirmed his departure from FOX “News” during his appearance on FOX & Friends today.
Following his video tweet announcement yesterday, Geraldo Rivera has officially bid farewell to FOX “News” during his appearance on FOX & Friends. Rivera revealed, “I am leaving Fox. I was fired from ‘The Five,’ so then I said, ‘Well, I might as well resign totally,’ and so I quit, and today is my last day. I want to leave, though, not thinking about those things. I want to leave thinking about how wonderful everyone has been to me over the last 23 years.” As a tribute to his time at the network, a compilation of Rivera’s “greatest hits” was shown.
Geraldo claimed that he had faced several suspensions during his time at FOX “News,” including a recent one triggered by tweets criticizing Tucker Carlson in May. There have also been reported conflicts between Geraldo and the hosts, with the former often finding himself at odds with a loud and unwilling-to-admit-wrongness host lineup.
