A new update from Microsoft Teams promises to add a touch of personality and emotion to your chats and calls. The video conferencing service is developing a tool that will consolidate emojis, GIFs, and stickers into a single location. This will make it easier for users to find and share the desired reactions, adding a bit of fun and simplicity to their Microsoft Teams experience with a “combined picker”.
The company aims to enhance the user experience for its customers worldwide with this addition.
Microsoft Teams “fun”
In a post on Microsoft 365 roadmap, the upcoming “unified fun picker” will bring together emojis, GIFs, and stickers in one place for Windows and Mac users.
The company states, “Browse and discover all the fun stuff you need, all in one hub of content.” Although still in the development phase, the rollout is scheduled to begin in August 2023.
Analysis – Fun fun fun?
Emojis have long been a popular feature in Microsoft Teams and have seen continuous expansion in recent years. In February 2022, Microsoft introduced the Fluent Emojis selection, which offers a fresh and modern look to over 1,800 emojis. The aim is to bring a delightful new version of the emojis used daily.
Furthermore, Microsoft Teams has embraced animated avatars to provide users with more personalization and individuality in what can be a formal and business-oriented service. Launched in May 2023, these avatars animate based on vocal cues and emoji reactions, allowing even users without webcams to enjoy this feature with just a headset.
We hope that consolidating these entertaining options into one place will inject a little more liveliness into our work chats and calls.
