Google is getting ready to give a boost to the Pixel 8a compared to its predecessor, the Pixel 7a. The Pixel 8a is rumored to have a 6.1-inch full-HD+ OLED display that’s super smooth with a refresh rate of 120Hz. Additionally, it’s expected to have a really bright screen, reaching up to 1,400 nits when showing HDR content, just like the fancier Pixel 8 model. This would be a big step up from the Pixel 7a, which had a 90Hz screen.

Under the hood, the Pixel 8a is said to run on the Tensor G3 chipset, which is the same powerful processor used in the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. However, there might be a slight difference in the type of chip used. While the regular G3 chip uses something called FOPLP (Fan-Out Panel Level Packaging), the Pixel 8a’s G3 chip might use IPoP (Integrated Package on Package) technology.

According to WinFuture, the upcoming Google Pixel 8a is expected to come in four cool colors: “Obsidian” (black), “Porcelain” (beige), “Bay” (light blue), and “Mint” (light green). But not all colors might be available for both versions of the phone. Right now, it looks like the 256GB model will only come in “Obsidian” (black). The exact release date for the Pixel 8a is still up in the air, but most folks in the industry think it’ll hit stores sometime in April or May.

However, there’s a notable twist in the pricing compared to its predecessor. Information from German retailers suggests that the starting price for the Pixel 8a is expected to surpass 550 euros, roughly translating to around Rs 50,000 in India. This marks a significant increase from the Pixel 7a, which started at 499 euros, equivalent to less than Rs 45,000.
