The addition of the XL model is likely inspired by Apple’s current iPhone lineup, aiming to offer users the most premium experience with the top-end model and close to similar performance with the Pixel 9 Pro at a more affordable price. The standard model is targeted towards people with budget restrictions and who want an all-rounder flagship phone at the lowest possible price in the Pixel 9 series. Here is a look at the India prices and specs of the new Pixel phones.

Pixel 9: Specs

The Pixel 9, which is the most affordable of the trio, features a 6.3-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2424 pixels and a dynamic refresh rate ranging from 60Hz to 120Hz, ensuring smooth visuals and responsive touch interactions. The panel has 1800nits of local brightness and 2700nits of peak brightness. The screen is also protected by top-end Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 coating.

Under the hood, the Pixel 9 is powered by Google’s Tensor G4 processor, paired with the Titan M2 security coprocessor, promising not only fast performance but also multi-layer hardware security. Google says the device comes with anti-malware and anti-phishing protection.

Photography remains a focal point for Google’s Pixel series, and the Pixel 9 continues this tradition with its dual rear camera setup, comprising a 50-megapixel wide lens and a 48-megapixel ultrawide lens. The device supports Super Res Zoom up to 8x, allowing users to capture detailed images even from a distance.

It has a 4700mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging and it is also compatible with wireless charging. The wired charger is sold separately, just like previous Pixel phones. The Pixel 9 comes with 12GB of RAM and offers storage options of 128GB and 256GB. It runs on Android 14 and promises 7 years of Android OS and security updates, so you are getting long-term software support.

Pixel 9 Pro: Specs

Stepping up the ladder, the Pixel 9 Pro offers a more advanced display in the same size. There is a 6.3-inch LTPO OLED panel with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 coating, a higher resolution of 1280 x 2856 pixels and an adaptive refresh rate that can range from 1Hz to 120Hz. This is likely to improve battery efficiency and provide a more fluid experience when interacting with the device.

The camera system on the Pixel 9 Pro is upgraded with a triple rear setup, adding a 48-megapixel telephoto lens to the mix. This allows for Super Res Zoom up to 30x, catering to photography lovers who demand more details in their shots. There is up to 5x optical zoom as well. The back camera setup also includes a 50-megapixel Octa PD wide camera and a 48-megapixel Quad PD ultrawide camera.

The battery remains at 4700mAh, and the device supports both 45W wired. The wireless charging support is also available here. The Pixel 9 Pro is equipped with 16GB of RAM and offers storage capacities from 128GB up to 1TB.

Pixel 9 Pro XL: Specs

The flagship of the series, the Pixel 9 Pro XL, features a larger 6.8-inch 24-bit LTPO OLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 coating and a resolution of 1344 x 2992 pixels, providing a more premium experience. The panel has support for 2000nits of local brightness and 3000nits of peak brightness. Like its Pro sibling, it is powered by the Tensor G4 processor and features the same triple rear camera system, capable of achieving 30x Super Res Zoom.

The Pixel 9 Pro XL also benefits from a larger 5,060mAh battery, which can charge up to 70 percent in 30 minutes using Google’s. The device is available with 16GB of RAM and is being offered in a wide range of storage options, including 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB.
