The cabin of the Niro is not only spacious, but also well-designed and equipped with features, especially in the SX Touring trim. However, my main issue is with the excessive use of piano black plastic, which easily shows smudges, fingerprints, and dust. On the plus side, Kia adds interesting ambient light effects to compensate for this. While the plastic materials may not impress luxury enthusiasts, they are of high quality and the switchgear feels solid and reliable.
The Niro comes with a standard 10.25-inch center touchscreen, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation in EX and SX Touring trims, a wireless phone charger, power driver’s seat, and heated front seats. Both trims also include dual-zone climate control, which is operated through Kia’s slightly annoying dual-mode HVAC and media control panel. Switching between the two control sets is done via a small touch-sensitive button without any tactile distinction.

Kia excels in providing a good selection of USB ports in the Niro: two USB-A and a USB-C port in the front, along with two USB-A ports in the back (with clever positioning). Additionally, there is a 12V outlet in the front. While the SynTex seat fabric may not resemble real leather, it is perfectly suitable for this segment and price range.
