Immortals of Aveum Has Gone Gold, Locking in August 22 Date

Ascendant Studios has officially announced that its highly anticipated debut game, Immortals of Aveum, has gone gold. The game, which will be published under the EA Originals label, is set to be released on August 22nd. Originally scheduled for July 20th, the release date was pushed back by a month to allow for additional polishing and refinement.

Bret Robbins, Head of Studio and a renowned figure in the gaming industry for his work on acclaimed franchises like Dead Space and Call of Duty, shared a heartfelt message to mark the culmination of Ascendant’s five-year project.

When I founded Ascendant Studios, I had nothing more than a game concept, a few notes, and the trust of my investor, Brian. The idea of creating an independent AAA studio seemed daunting at the time, with no team, no technology, and only a vague notion of where to begin. Now, five years later, I am incredibly proud of the epic, visually stunning, and immensely enjoyable game that we have created through the unwavering passion and hard work of our team. It has been the most rewarding experience of my professional career.

On behalf of the entire Ascendant team, I cannot wait for all of you to experience the world we have meticulously crafted in Immortals of Aveum. This is just the beginning of our journey as both a game developer and a company.

Immortals of Aveum is a captivating single-player sci-fantasy first-person shooter. Players will be thrust into the heart of the Everwar, an unending conflict for the control of magic between the kingdoms of Lucium and Rasharn. As Jak, a former street urchin who unexpectedly gains the extraordinary ability to wield all colors of magic, players are recruited as one of the legendary Immortals. Tasked with turning the tide of the war, they join an elite group of warriors dedicated to restoring balance and peace.

The developers have promised a lengthy campaign, offering over 25 hours of gameplay. Immortals of Aveum also features additional side content, as confirmed by Executive Producer Kevin Boyle in an interview with Wccftech.

For players who enjoy thorough exploration and uncovering secrets, there are hidden surprises throughout the game. Drawing inspiration from Metroidvania-style gameplay, certain areas may require specific abilities that are not initially available. This encourages replayability, motivating players to return once they have acquired the necessary powers to access previously inaccessible areas or overcome obstacles.

In terms of variety, Immortals of Aveum offers a rich and diverse experience. From straightforward puzzles to elaborate and challenging content in the later stages of the game, players will find a range of engaging gameplay elements.

Powered by Unreal Engine 5, Immortals of Aveum initially had high system requirements. However, the developers have been dedicated to optimizing the game further prior to its release.
