The trailer for Kaalkoot was released by JioCinema on Monday through their social media accounts and YouTube. In the film, Vijay plays Ravi Shankar Tripathi, a sub-inspector, while Shweta Tripathi portrays an acid attack survivor. This series showcases Vijay in a completely different role, unlike any he has played before in his career.

The trailer kicks off with Vijay Varma (Ravi Shankar Tripathi) resigning from his position as a sub-inspector after witnessing unspeakable incidents at his police station. However, his senior officer refuses to accept his resignation and urges him to file at least one FIR before leaving. Soon, another case of an acid attack arises, and the “man of the system” finds himself fighting against the system. In his quest for justice, he embarks on a journey to uncover the truth. Will he succeed in exposing the darkness? This forms the central premise of the upcoming JioCinema Original series.
