McDonald’s Cards Leak Reveals Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Stealing the Spotlight

Exciting news for McDonald’s customers and Pokemon fans as the beloved collaboration returns once again. For years, Pokemon has partnered with McDonald’s to offer exclusive promotional Pokemon cards at select locations. These highly sought-after collectibles, originally limited to Japan, have gained a dedicated following and often feature unique symbols. The 2021 McDonald’s X Pokemon promotion quickly sold out, with collectors purchasing boxes and reselling them for high prices on platforms like eBay.

Now, the Pokemon community is buzzing with anticipation as leaked images of the upcoming 2023 Pokemon McDonald’s cards have emerged. The leak, reported by the reputable source PokeBeach on July 26, reveals 15 cards from the yet-to-be-officially-announced promotion, which apparently made an early appearance in Germany. According to PokeBeach, these leaked cards represent the entire lineup for this year’s McDonald’s Pokemon event. The promotion is scheduled to launch in Germany and Austria on July 27, followed by the UK on August 23. Fans in other countries, including the United States, can expect the release in August as well.

The leaked card list includes Sprigatito, Fuecoco, Quaxly, Cetoddle, Cetitan, Pikachu, Pawmi, Kilowattrel, Flittle, Sandaconda, Klawf, Blissey, Tandemaus, Cyclizar, and Kirlia. Notably, all of these featured Pokemon, except Pikachu, belong to the Scarlet & Violet series. Out of the 15 cards, six will have a holographic finish: Sprigatito, Fuecoco, Quaxly, Cetitan, Pikachu, and Klawf.

The cards will be distributed in four-card booster packs and will come with a “Match & Battle” toy, similar to last year’s McDonald’s X Pokemon promotion.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet fans can also look forward to a two-part expansion. The first part, titled “The Teal Mask,” is set to release this fall, with the second part, “The Indigo Disk,” following in winter. Players will embark on an exciting journey as an exchange student at the Blueberry Academy, an underwater school. Additionally, “The Teal Mask” introduces players to Kitakami, where they participate in an annual festival celebrating the legendary Heroes of Kitakami alongside students from Naranja and Uva Academies.
