The rainy season brings showers and cool breezes, but it also brings forth a few insects that emerge from their underground nests. During this season, red and black ants can be found wandering around the house. The increase in humidity forces the ants out of their anthills. Here are some simple tricks to get rid of ants during the monsoon:

Use citrus products

Citrusy smells, like those from lemon and orange peels, repel ants. You can also create homemade sprays by squeezing lemon or orange juice into a bottle of water and adding vinegar. Spray this solution in areas where ants gather.

Salt

Salt is a common household item that can be used to deter ants. Sprinkle salt in the nooks and corners of your home where ants gather. Boil a pot of water and salt, then fill a spray bottle with the solution. Spray it wherever needed to quickly get rid of ants.

Dishwashing soap water

Dishwashing soap is not only great for removing stains from utensils, but it’s also effective in driving away ants. Create a foamy solution using soap and water, then fill a bottle with it and spray it in the areas infested by ants.

Use kitchen spices

You can find natural remedies to eliminate ants right in your kitchen spices. Turmeric powder and black pepper powder are particularly effective for this purpose. Peppermint
