Motorola is all set to launch the Edge 50 Ultra in the Indian market. The Edge 50 Ultra is set to come with a host of generative AI features including a Magic Canvas, which has a function similar to that of Copilot and ChatGPT. Apart from that, the phone is expected to feature a unique wooden rear panel, which is a first in the smartphone industry. Coming to technical specifications, the phone is expected to feature a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3.

The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra stands out with its sleek design, including a distinctive variant featuring a real wooden back panel in off-white, paired with a golden finish on the side frames. The triple camera setup is elegantly housed in a slightly raised module, enhancing the phone’s aesthetic appeal. This unique design promises both style and durability, which will be validated upon its official release and subsequent reviews.

The front of the Edge 50 Ultra showcases a 6.7-inch OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, ensuring smooth and vibrant visuals. Powering the device is the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, delivering top-tier performance. The phone boasts an IP68 rating, making it resistant to water and dust. It also features a 4,500mAh battery, supporting 50W wireless charging and 125W wired charging, ensuring quick and convenient power-ups.

The camera system on the Edge 50 Ultra includes a 50-megapixel main camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), a 64-megapixel telephoto lens with OIS, and a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens that doubles as a macro lens. This versatile setup is designed to deliver high-quality photography in various scenarios. Running on the latest Android 14 OS, the device offers up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage, providing ample space for all your needs.

Additional features include an in-display fingerprint scanner, Gorilla Glass Victus protection, and support for Moto AI – Motorola’s suite of artificial intelligence features, including Magic Canvas for AI image generation. The phone also offers Smart Connect, allowing seamless streaming of apps to PCs, data sharing, and using the phone as a webcam.

While the global model of the Edge 50 Ultra is priced at EUR 999 (approximately Rs 88,870), the Indian price is expected to be lower, likely between Rs 40,000 and Rs 50,000. Motorola has confirmed that the Edge 50 Ultra will come with three years of assured OS upgrades and up to four years of security updates, ensuring long-term support for users. The phone also supports 10W wireless power sharing, enabling users to charge other devices such as smartwatches and TWS earbuds.
