Muck v. Zuckerberg fight may still happen as the billionaires continue online beef

The highly anticipated billionaire showdown may finally take place as Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and X owner Elon Musk engage in an ongoing online discourse.

Back in June, the exchange of words between Musk and Zuckerberg escalated to Musk challenging Zuckerberg to a cage match fight. Just as it seemed like the fight was going to fizzle out, Musk took to X to share his preparations, stating, “I am dedicating my day to lifting weights and training for the fight.”

This post immediately caught Zuckerberg’s attention. On Threads, Zuckerberg responded, “I am ready today.” Initially, when the challenge was presented, Zuckerberg proposed a date later this month. He stated, “I suggested Aug 26 when he first challenged, but he hasn’t confirmed. I am not holding my breath.”

Musk reaffirmed his stance that the fight with Zuckerberg is still on. In a tweet, Musk announced, “Zuck v Musk fight will be live-streamed on 𝕏. All proceeds will go to charity for veterans.” The online banter between the two continued with Zuckerberg suggesting the use of a more reliable platform that can effectively raise money for charity.

Musk mentioned that the “exact date is still in flux” due to his need for an MRI of his neck and upper back. He also mentioned the possibility of undergoing surgery before the fight.

It remains uncertain whether the fight will actually take place. The heated exchange between Musk and Zuckerberg has been ongoing for several months, particularly since Threads was launched as an alternative to Twitter (now rebranded as X).

The UFC Octagon in Las Vegas and the ancient Colosseum in Rome have been mentioned as potential venues for the match. UFC President Dana White has confirmed that both Musk and Zuckerberg are “dead serious” about the event.
