After weeks of speculation, Niharika Konidela made an official announcement on Wednesday regarding her divorce from Chaitanya. In her statement, she expressed, “Chaitanya and I have come to the mutual decision to part ways. We kindly request for your kindness and sensitivity as we move forward. Our family and friends have been our pillars of support, and we thank them for their unwavering support. We kindly ask for privacy as we navigate through this new phase of our lives. Thank you for understanding.” Niharika has disabled comments on the post. The rumors about their separation started when Niharika attended her brother Varun Tej’s engagement without Chaitanya.
The couple got married in a grand ceremony at Udaipur in 2020. However, in recent months, rumors about their troubled marriage have been circulating. Niharika and Chaitanya have also unfollowed each other on Instagram. According to Sakshi.com, Chaitanya was the first to file for divorce. He filed the petition less than a month ago at the Kukatpally Family Court in Hyderabad.

Niharika and Chaitanya had a lavish wedding at Udaipur’s Umaid Bhawan Palace. Niharika, known for her work in Telugu films like Oka Manasu and Happy Wedding, got engaged to Chaitanya Jonnalagadda in a private family affair in August 2020. The engagement ceremony was attended only by close family members, while the wedding was a star-studded affair with celebrities like Chiranjeevi, Allu Arjun, Sneha, Ram Charan, Sai Dharam, and many others in attendance. The couple had a traditional South Indian wedding, with the bride wearing an all-golden zari saree and the groom opting for a golden sherwani.
Following the wedding, Niharika shared a cute picture and wrote, “I promise not to miss any opportunity to make you laugh just like this. (Even if it means I have to hit you) there’s no going back now. Hi chay.”
Niharika Konidela is the daughter of Naga Babu, an actor and the brother of Chiranjeevi. Chaitanya Jonnalagedda is a techie and the son of Guntur’s Inspector General of Police, M Prabhakara Rao.
