Nubia Red Magic 8 Pro Specifications Leak via TENAA Listing, Tipped to Run on Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC

New leaks have surfaced, indicating that Nubia’s Red Magic 8 series of smartphones could be coming soon in China. These leaks, which emerged on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, provide a detailed breakdown of the specifications for the upcoming Red Magic 8 and Red Magic 8 Pro models from Nubia. It is expected that the Red Magic 8 series will be among the world’s first gaming phones to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.

According to a report by Gizmochina, the alleged Nubia phone briefly appeared on the TENAA certification website before being taken down. However, keen-eyed users managed to capture screenshots of the listing before it disappeared and shared them on Weibo. This is not the first leak surrounding the device, as a device believed to be the Red Magic 8 Pro with the model number NX729J had previously appeared on the 3C certification platform in China back in November.

The screenshots shared on Weibo give us a detailed look at the specifications of the Nubia gaming smartphones. The Red Magic 8 Pro will feature a 6.8-inch OLED display with a screen resolution of 2,480 x 1,116 pixels, as revealed by the leaks. Similar to its predecessor, the Red Magic 7S Pro, this smartphone will have narrow bezels and an under-display front camera without a hole-punch cutout. Along with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, the Red Magic 8 series is expected to come in 8GB, 12GB, and 16GB RAM variants, as indicated by the screenshots on Weibo.

The TENAA listing also reveals that the device will be available in three different storage options – 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB – and two battery capacities, namely 5,720 mAh and 4,900 mAh. Additionally, a report from GSMArena suggests that the Nubia Red Magic 8 Pro will support 165W wired charging.

Other notable features of the Red Magic 8 series include a 16-megapixel under-display front camera and a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 50-megapixel main sensor, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 2-megapixel tertiary camera.

Nubia, which is owned by ZTE, had launched the Red Magic 7S Pro in July with a starting price of $729 (approximately Rs 60,000). This gaming-focused smartphone came with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC as well as a dedicated gaming chip called the Red Core 1.
