OnePlus 12 launch is just two weeks away: Top 5 features coming to the 2024 OnePlus flagship

Over the years, OnePlus has carved a niche for itself in the industry and each year, people look up to the brand to deliver something special. In 2024, the OnePlus 12 will make its global debut after having launched in China earlier this month. The phone is now gearing up to step in the global market, on January 23, 2024. Even though we will not know the official India price of the OnePlus 12 before the launch, rumours have it that the base variant phone will cost less than Rs 60,000 in India.

While we aren’t sure of the price yet, we do know the phone’s features that got the tech world talking.

Ahead of OnePlus 12’s global launch, let us take a look at the top 5 features coming to the 2024 flagship device by OnePlus.

Brightest Display

The OnePlus 12 boasts of a 6.82-inch QHD+ display with an LTPO AMOLED panel. The phone comes with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and thus, promises a smooth performance with an enhanced user experience. The key highlight of the phone, however, remains its brightness. The OnePlus 12 comes with a standard brightness of 1,600 nits and the peak brightness of a whopping 4,500 nits.

This makes the phone brighter than most other smartphones in the market so if you are somebody who uses their phone a lot outdoors, in the bright sunlight, this might just be a great option for you.

In addition to this, the panel also supports Dolby Vision, 10 bit Color Depth, and ProXDR. The display also comes with an A+ certification from DisplayMate, meaning it has one of the best displays in the industry.

New colour and subtle design changes

The OnePlus 12 will be available in three colour options- Pale Green, Rock Black, and White.

While the Black and White options look gorgeous as well, people are much more excited about the green hue, which gives it a unique touch.

A Weibo post by OnePlus had earlier revealed that these colour choices hold symbolic significance. The white variant signifies space, while the green hue represents nature amidst various landscapes. Also, the black shade showcases the brand’s decade-long dedication and perseverance.

In addition to introducing a new colour option, the company has also placed the alert slider on the left side of the phone. This means that on the right edge, the power and volume buttons have a little more breathing rom.

Camera improvements

The OnePlus 12 also has camera improvements when compared to the previous phone. It will come with a triple rear camera setup, consisting of a 50-megapixel main camera with Sony LYT-808 and OIS, a 64MP periscope camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 48MP ultra-wide camera.

The camera further includes Hasselblad Colour Calibration and supports recording videos at up to 8K resolution. Additionally, the phone has a 32MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.

Faster charging speed and larger battery

Wireless charging has become a norm of sorts when it comes to flagship devices. However, only a few phones offer great speeds when it comes to wireless charging and OnePlus 12 is one of them. The phone supports wireless charging for up to 50W and has a 100W charging speed when it comes to charging through a wire.

The phone also sports a larger battery, of 5,400 mAh, which is a welcome move on any flagship device. OnePlus claims that the battery, while being charged with a wire, can go from 0 to 100 percent in just 26 minutes. The phone also supports reverse charging and claims to retain 80 percent of its capacity even after 1,600 charging cycles

Latest processor and huge RAM

The OnePlus 12 is powered by the latest flagship processor in the market, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. This chipset is not only one of the best right now, but also supports one-device AI, promising to make AI-related tasks faster and more secure.

Due to the processor, users can expect a fast performance from the OnePlus 12 as the same chip has been a part of a few premium phones already and it has received positive reviews.

The RAM is another highlight of the phone as in China, we saw a 24GB RAM variant as well. While we are not sure if the same RAM variant will be available in India or not, it surely is worth mentioning here.
