The information was first shared by OnePlus President and COO Kinder Liu in an exclusive interview with DigitalTrends.
This is a big jump from the OnePlus Nord 3 or even the OnePlus 12R, which only supports up to three years of OS upgrades.
Currently, only
the OnePlus 12 offers four years of Android updates but maxes out at five years of security updates instead of six.
This makes the OnePlus Nord 4, the longest supported smartphone from the Chinese smartphone maker.
“With our fluency testing, battery health technology and longest-ever software update policy, we are ensuring OnePlus Nord 4 users get years of fast and smooth experiences,” Liu said in a statement.
The Nord 4 will be launched at the OnePlus Summer Event alongside the OnePlus Pad 2 tablet, the OnePlus Nord Buds 3 Pro and the OnePlus Watch 2R. The event will be held in Milan, Italy and will also be streamed live on the company’s YouTube channel at 6.30 pm.
OnePlus has not revealed much about the device since announcing the launch, except revealing that it will have an all-metal unibody, which will make it a unique proposition, especially in its price range.
