Oppo Reno 12 series, which consists of Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro variants, is set to launch on May 23 in China. These models will succeed the lineup of Reno 11. While we wait for further announcements and details of the flagship, the company has teased a couple of pictures online. Along with all the colour options, these pictures revealed the full design of the upcoming devices. Furthermore, the Reno 12 Pro has appeared on the TENAA certification site in China, revealing crucial hardware details. While the Oppo Reno 12 series is speculated to be launched in India soon, the company is yet to confirm it.
The Oppo Reno series is expected to be the first one in the Android industry to offer live photos. Earlier, the Android phones that offered live photos did not allow the photos to be saved in that mode.
Oppo Reno 12 Pro: Specifications
The TENAA certification provides details of the Oppo Reno 12 Pro specs. As per the listing, the device will feature a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 2412×1080 pixels.
The standard variant, Reno 12, might offer three-colour options, including, Millennium Silver, Soft Peach, and Ebony Black, and the Pro version offers Silver, Phantom Purple, Champagne Gold, and Ebony Black colours. Both the smartphones — OPPO Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro — feature a centre-positioned punch-hole cutout for the selfie snapper, flat edges, and slim bezels. The pictures revealed that the models will have a slight curvature towards the edges and a volume rocker and power buttons are on the right edge.
The battery of this Pro version is listed to have a 4,880mAh unit and is likely to be marketed as a 5,000mAh battery. The rumour has it that the device will support 80W fast charging.
The Reno 12 Pro is most likely to have a camera setup including two 50-megapixel sensors and an 8MP third lens. The front camera has 50-megapixels. The SoC details provide insight on an octa-core processor with a peak clock speed of 3.23GHz, potentially the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 SoC.
The flagship will be available in 12GB or 16GB RAM and 256GB, 512GB and 1TB of internal storage configurations. It is expected to have an Android 14 operating system.
