Delhi Schools Bomb Threat News Live Updates: Around 100 schools in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) received a bomb threat email in the early hours of Wednesday. These include at least five schools in the southwest, three in the east, and 10 in South Delhi. The schools received the threats on their official email IDs around 4 am. Speaking to reporters, Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Vinai Kumar Saxena, said that the Delhi Police has found out the origin of the threat emails and that an investigation is underway. He added, “I want to assure the people of Delhi that Delhi Police is fully prepared and we will try to prevent any untoward incident from happening.”

Officials have told The Indian Express that prima facie the emails appear to have been sent from Russia. Meanwhile, central agencies are also investigating the matter. Officials said that similar threats were received by airports in the last two days, and by hospitals on Monday.

The Home Ministry and the Delhi Police have urged citizens not to panic, saying that the calls appear to be a hoax. The Delhi Fire Service (DFS) has received 60 bomb threat calls so far. Upon receiving the information, local police promptly evacuated the school premises. A thorough search operation is currently being conducted with the assistance of bomb detection teams, bomb disposal squads, and officials from the DFS.

“Polling booth ke andar jaake jhaadu na dhoondhna, INDIA gathbandhan hai, jhaadu nishaan nahi hoga toh haath ka nishan dabana (While voting, do not look for the broom, we are fighting elections together, so make sure that you choose the hand button),” was the rare message of solidarity given by leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party and Congress as they gathered at Shakur Basti earlier this week and met voters.

Adorned with banners featuring the stalwarts of both the Congress and AAP, these gatherings serve a twofold purpose: to “convince” voters as well as “educate” party workers about the significance of voting for their alliance partners as per the seat-sharing arrangement.

In Delhi, the AAP and Congress have entered into a pact, with seats allocated in a four-three arrangement.
