A reliable tipster, Abhishek Yadav, has revealed the India prices of the Pixel 9 series on X (formerly Twitter), which he claims to have obtained from a reliable source. The tipster claims that the Pixel 9 smartphone will come with a starting price tag of Rs 79,999 and the Pixel 9 Pro is tipped to be priced at Rs 1,09,999.
The tipster also mentioned that the Pixel 9 Pro XL will be priced at Rs 1,24,999 in India and the Pixel Fold will cost Rs 1,72,999. Google will be launching XL model for the first time in its flagship series and it will likely be targeted towards those who want the best of Pixel devices and the most premium experience. Notably, Google has already announced its foldable phones in the global market but it is bringing a flexible phone to India for the first time.
If the leaked India prices of the Pixel 9 series turn out to be true, then it means that Google has made Pixel phones more expensive, although they are priced closer to Apple’s iPhone 15 series. To recall, the Pixel 8 was launched in India with a price tag of Rs 75,999, which means that Google is planning to increase the price by Rs 4,000 with the launch of the new Pixel 9 smartphone, as suggested by the fresh leak. The Pixel 8 Pro was announced in India for Rs 1,06,999, so the new version could receive a price hike of Rs 3,000, as per the leak.
For those who want to know the prices of last year’s iPhones, the iPhone 15 went on sale at Rs 79,600. The price of the iPhone 15 Pro starts from Rs 1,34,900 and the Pro Max is priced at Rs 1,59,900. The Plus model was launched at Rs 89,900.
So, if the leaked prices of the Pixel 9 series are true, there will be almost no price difference between the standard Pixel model and the iPhone 15. In comparison to the iPhone 15 Pro, the price difference is huge when compared with the Pixel 9 Pro’s India price, something that the leak suggests. The leak suggests that the Pixel 9 Pro will be Rs 24,901 cheaper than the iPhone 15 Pro but whether the new Google phone will justify its high price is something that remains to be seen.
