Reportedly, BGMI is now accessible for download on Google Play Store via a URL link.

Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) is now available to download on select Android devices. Online users have noticed that the previously banned battle royale game is now available on the Google Play Store without any official announcement from publisher Krafton. We have verified this information through the web version, although the game does not appear on most of the review units we have. Last week, Krafton announced that the Indian government has granted them permission to resume operations of BGMI in the country after a 10-month ban due to security concerns.

It seems that some users have been able to download and install BGMI on their devices by accessing the game through the Play Store URL. The game is not listed on Google or Apple’s app stores, so searching for it directly will not yield any results. However, those who have successfully downloaded the game are unable to play it at the moment because the servers are currently offline. A screenshot from a user shows a warning message stating, “Server is not online yet. Please check the official news for further information regarding availability.” Speaking of availability, Krafton has only mentioned that BGMI will be available in India “soon” and has not provided any additional details except for expressing gratitude towards the Indian government.

Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Union Minister of State for Electronics & Technology, has confirmed that BGMI has been approved by the government for a three-month trial period. During this period, the game will be closely monitored to ensure there are no issues related to user harm or addiction. Additionally, the game will implement playtime restrictions to mitigate addiction risks. Changes will also be made to the gore aspect of the game, such as changing the default blood color from red to green or blue.

In July 2022, BGMI was completely removed from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store under Section 69 of the IT Act. This had a significant impact on the Indian esports industry, which experienced a surge in mobile gaming with the popularity of PUBG. Just before the ban, a BGMI tournament with a prize pool of Rs. 1.5 crore was even televised, highlighting the game’s demand in the country. More recently, Dead by Daylight Mobile was delisted from mobile stores without a clear explanation, but it is speculated that the decision was related to the game’s publisher, NetEase, a Chinese company responsible for distribution in Japan, Korea, and South Asian countries.

Krafton has not yet provided any official release details for Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI).
