Honda currently lacks a 7-seater option in India. Considering the popularity of the 7-seater segment, the Japanese brand is missing out. It knows that and is working on an Elevate 7-seater. However, it also needs to bring an affordable option to take on the likes of Maruti Ertiga, XL6 and Kia Carens. Globally, Honda has launched the new gen of Freed MPV, which should slot right into the affordable 7-seater segment. So what is this Freed MPV and could it come to India? Let’s talk about this Rs 13 lakh Honda 7-seater.

Launch details
In May, Honda unveiled the new-gen model of the Freed. Now the brand has revealed the pricing of the car. In Japan, the Freed is priced from JPY 2.5 million to JPY 3.4 million (INR 13 lakh to INR 17.80 lakh). So at this price, the car seems quite a good proposition. But the million-dollar question is, will it come to India? The Freed MPV was expected to come to India way back in 2012 to take on the Maruti Ertiga. Sadly, Honda launched the Mobilio in India, which failed. Now it seems unlikely that Honda would even think about bringing it to India as it is focusing more on SUVs. Still, we think Honda should think about bringing the Freed to India as it could work well if done properly.
