Saira Banu has taken to social media to share heartfelt anecdotes about the enduring friendship between the late Dilip Kumar and Sunil Dutt. In a recent Instagram post, Saira shared a photo of Dilip and Sunil, capturing a beautiful moment. The photo shows Dilip with his hands on Sunil, who is gazing away. Sunil is dressed in black, while Dilip is dressed in blue.

In her caption, Saira expresses her joy in sharing stories and memories of Sahib (Dilip Kumar) with his friends. She reveals that Dilip was not only a loving and caring person but also a great friend, with Sunil Dutt being one of the closest to him. Being neighbors and icons of the film industry, they never isolated themselves in their luxurious lives but always came to the aid of the industry during times of crisis and challenges.”

Saira goes on to describe their bond, stating, “In times of trouble, Dilip Sahib and Dutt Sahab would sit together late into the night, brainstorming and finding solutions. Whether it was traveling back and forth to Delhi or helping victims of civil riots in Mumbai, they would always be there for one another. And on joyous occasions, it was a delight to see Sunil Ji walking down the slope to Dilip Sahib’s house, carrying his favorite katori of cooked dal, which was a must for him with every meal.”

Recalling a specific incident, Saira shares, “After an unfortunate air crash during his flight back from Shirpur, Maharashtra, Dutt Sahab landed at Breach Candy Hospital. But even with his injuries, that didn’t stop him from using a walking stick to visit his friend Dilip Sahib’s house and wish him Eid Mubarak. This truly showcases the greatness and camaraderie of Dutt Sahab.”

Adding further, Saira reveals, “When Dilip Sahib needed to travel abroad to accept an award, Dutt Sahab was the first to support him and encourage him to receive the honor. During this trip, Dutt Sahab expressed his desire to visit his own birthplace after many years. This friendship between the two legends traces back to a radio interview where Dutt Sahab had originally been cast, but Dilip Sahib refused and Sunil Ji took on the role instead.”
