The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rain alert for several districts in Rajasthan, prompting the closure of schools and colleges in affected areas. The region is currently experiencing intense downpours, which have led to these precautionary measures.
In Rajasthan, the government has announced a holiday for all schools up to Class 12 due to ongoing heavy rains. The District Magistrate has declared that schools from Classes 1 to 12 in Bharatpur and Karauli districts will remain closed on Monday, prioritising the safety of students.

In Rajasthan, the monsoon rains are causing significant disruptions across several districts. On Sunday, August 11, the Meteorological Department issued a red alert for numerous areas, marking the first time this season that such a high-level warning has been issued for so many districts.
In addition to the red alert, an orange alert has been issued for several districts in Rajasthan, including Jaipur City, Alwar, Sikar, Churu, Jhunjhunu, Dhaulpur, Dausa-Srinagar, Bikaner, Tonk, and Hanumangarh. These areas are expected to experience light to moderate rainfall, with heavy showers possible in isolated spots.
The IMD has also cautioned about potential flooding in drainage areas. Meanwhile, a yellow alert has been declared for Kota, Boondi, Nagaur, Bhilwara, Bara, and Chittorgarh, where light to moderate rainfall is anticipated.
