Sea of Stars is set to release on August 29, and developer Sabotage Studio has announced that it will launch as a PlayStation Plus Game Catalog title on the same day.
This highly anticipated turn-based role-playing game, which takes inspiration from classics, was already confirmed for release on Xbox as a day-and-date Game Pass title, as well as PC and Nintendo Switch.
The captivating storyline of Sea of Stars revolves around two Children of the Solstice who possess the combined powers of the sun and moon. They wield Eclipse Magic, the only force capable of stopping the monstrous creations of the villainous alchemist known as The Fleshmancer.
With its inclusion in the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog, Sea of Stars will be accessible to all Extra and Premium members on the day of its release. Philippe Dionne, the game’s level designer, expressed excitement about the expanded reach of Sea of Stars and the opportunities it will create for players worldwide in a blog post on the PlayStation Blog.
Alongside this announcement, a demo for Sea of Stars is now downloadable on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. The demo offers a preview of areas that will be featured in the final game, carefully avoiding any major story spoilers.
According to Dionne, “The demo is designed to give players a taste of the game’s context and highlight some of the dungeon crawling and combat mechanics. It is meant to convey the overall tone and atmosphere of the experience without revealing significant plot details.
“While it is not the final product, we believe that this playable demo effectively represents our vision for the game. We hope you will enjoy it!”
