Sam Humphries, Jordi Pérez and colorist Francesco Segala are reuniting Joss Whedon’s Serenity crew – or what’s left of them – to bring you Firefly: The Fall Guys, an exciting six-issue limited series packed with assassins, mishaps, and underworld dealings, published by Boom Studios.
The crew of Serenity finds themselves in dire straits, struggling with financial woes. To keep their spaceship flying, they must navigate the treacherous world of their dubious associates. But what seems like a simple job quickly spirals out of control when they find themselves entangled with federal authorities, distrustful locals, and a prominent politician.
SAM HUMPHRIES is an acclaimed writer and television host who has created over 200 comic books, including notable works in the Harley Quinn, Avengers, X-Men, and Guardians of the Galaxy franchises. He has also received critical acclaim for his original comics like Blackbird, Jonesy, and Goliath Girls. In the realm of entertainment news, he co-hosted DC DAILY, a popular entertainment news show that ran for 450 episodes. Humphries also made his mark in the gaming industry by writing the highly successful video game MARVEL CONTEST OF CHAMPIONS, which has garnered over 215 million downloads worldwide. His debut prose work, The Youngbloods, co-authored with Gwenda Bond and Kami Garcia, was released on Audible in June 2023. JORDI PEREZ, a talented comic book artist hailing from Ourense, Spain, has made his mark in the industry over the past three years. He has contributed to renowned publications like BOOM! Studios’ Firefly, Dynamite comics’ James Bond, Red Sonja, Vampirella, Rocketman and Rocketgirl, and Xena; Vault Comics’ Queen of Bad Dreams; Ahoy Comics’ Cryptid Story; Z2 Comics’ Hotel Diablo, and Machine Gun Kelly. Apart from collaborations with smaller independent publishers and Kickstarters, Perez has received critical acclaim for his artistic contributions.

FIREFLY: THE FALL GUYS #1 features a captivating cover by Francesco Francavilla (Night of the Ghoul), along with variants by Justine Florentino (Grim), Ejikure (Batman: Urban Legends), and Ariel Olivetti (Cable).
