Gadar 2 is a remake of the 2001 blockbuster film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. The story is set in post-partition India and revolves around the love story of Sakeena, a Muslim girl, and Tara Singh, an Indian Sikh boy. In the first installment, Tara Singh courageously crosses the border to rescue his beloved wife.
Gadar 2 was officially announced in October 2021 and will be helmed by director Anil Sharma, who also directed the original film. Utkarsh, Anil Sharma’s son who portrayed the role of Tara and Sakeena’s young son Jeete in the first film, will reprise his role in Gadar 2.

Gadar 2 will face tough competition at the box office as it clashes with two highly anticipated Bollywood movies: OMG 2 starring Akshay Kumar, and Animal starring Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna.
