Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmaah has been generating significant buzz recently. In the latest episode, a new face has been introduced as Rita Reporter. Previously, the character was played by Priya Ahuja Rajda, but after eight months, she was surprised to learn that she had been replaced. Priya has now made shocking allegations against the show’s producer, Asit Kumarr Modi, and his team. She has accused Asit Modi of unprofessional behavior for not acknowledging or responding to her messages.
Priya revealed to ETimes, “I had no idea that I was being replaced on Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. No one from their team bothered to inform me. In fact, on May 5th, I messaged Asit bhai to inquire if I’m still a part of the show, but I received no response. Then, on May 17th and 18th, I messaged Sohil Ramani and Asit bhai again, expressing my disappointment in their unprofessional behavior. I mentioned that their attitude had caused me to not hear from them for the past 8 months, and they hadn’t even replied to my messages. So, I am officially announcing today that I am no longer a part of their show. Since then, they have not acknowledged or replied to any of my messages. All I knew was that on the 19th and 20th, they conducted auditions for a new Rita Reporter, and on July 21st, they shot with the new Rita.”
The actress, who portrayed the character of Rita Reporter for 14 years, expressed her deep hurt. “Of course, it is very heartbreaking. I am extremely hurt by their behavior. They could have shown some basic respect by changing the character’s name or at least acknowledging my message. I wasn’t expecting them to call me back or request me to return because ever since my husband Malav Rajda left the show, they directly cut me off from TMKOC. They didn’t contact me for 8 months. What else can I infer from that? They wanted to hear from me that I’m leaving the show, and the moment I told them, they probably thought, ‘She has quit, let’s show her replacement,'” she said.
Meanwhile, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, the long-running sitcom, has gained immense popularity among viewers. However, it has also been surrounded by negative reports. Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal and Monika Bhadoriya have previously raised allegations against the show’s producer, Asit Kumar Modi.
